Not Just a Coach. Not Just a Chef.

Meet Ben Plotnicki
Ben Plotnicki is a CrossFit Games athlete, performance coach, and culinary-trained chef who built The Athletic Chef to solve a problem most nutrition plans ignore:
If food doesn’t taste good, people don’t stick with it.
With a background in strength and conditioning, nutrition coaching, and years of competing at a high level—including a Top 20 finish at the CrossFit Games in the Masters division—Ben understands what the body needs to perform.
What sets him apart is that he also understands how to make that food something you’ll actually want to eat.
The Athletic Chef is where those two worlds meet—performance nutrition and real cooking—so people can get results without sacrificing flavor or sustainability.

Ben Plotnicki has spent decades inside the world of performance—training, competing, coaching, and helping people improve how they eat, move, and recover.
As a CrossFit Games athlete, Ben didn’t just study performance—he lived it. Competing at the highest level in the Masters division and finishing 16th at the CrossFit Games, he understands firsthand what it takes to fuel a body for strength, endurance, and consistency.
But his career didn’t stop at competition.
For over 20 years, Ben has coached athletes and everyday clients in strength, conditioning, and nutrition—helping people improve body composition, increase performance, and build systems they can actually sustain.
Along the way, he recognized a major problem in the industry: Most nutrition plans fail not because they’re wrong—but because they’re unrealistic.
They ignore time, energy, and one critical factor: people don’t stick with food they don’t enjoy.
That realization pushed Ben to expand beyond coaching and into the culinary world. After completing formal culinary training, he developed the skillset to do what most coaches can’t: turn performance nutrition into meals that are practical, repeatable, and genuinely satisfying.
That combination—performance expertise and culinary execution—is his unfair advantage.
The Athletic Chef was built to Close the Gap.
Most nutrition brands live on only one side of the equation.
They either understand performance but make food feel like punishment, or they know food but don’t understand what active people actually need from it.
The Athletic Chef was built to close that gap.
Ben combines years of coaching in strength, conditioning, and nutrition with formal culinary training to create meals that are practical, performance-focused, and genuinely satisfying.
